How do I hand a developer everything this page uses?

A handover is usually five exports from four screens, pasted into a document that is stale before it is read. This ticks the parts you want - the design system, the palette, the typefaces, the icons, the page held against your token file - and writes them into one archive with a cover that names the page and the moment it was taken. What this actually is

At the end of a piece of work, when what you have read has to leave with somebody else. The sizes are printed before the press, so a pack that is about to be forty megabytes says so while parts can still be taken off it.

Why are the raster images only listed?

Because an archive that quietly redistributes somebody's photography is a different object from a handover document. The URLs are all there, and fetching them is a decision the person receiving the pack gets to make.

Why is a part greyed out?

Because nothing is behind it yet. The conformance section needs a token file pasted first, so the row says that rather than disappearing - a part that vanishes reads as a feature you were promised and cannot find.

Does anything reach a server?

No. The archive is assembled in the tab and saved by the browser. The sizes printed before the press are measured locally too, which is why they are exact rather than estimated.

how to use handoff pack

  1. Open Handoff pack on the page being handed over, after the readings it carries have been taken.
  2. Tick the parts the archive should carry. The size beside each one moves as you go.
  3. Read the cover line: it names the page and the moment, which is what makes the pack citable later.
  4. Build the pack. It is written here and downloaded, never uploaded anywhere.
